Important information for vehicles with VIN JMZKE******486040 and higher: On vehicles with SCBS-R, the system will be deactivated as soon as a trailer or bicycle carrier is attached. Once the trailer or bicycle carrier is removed, the SCBS-R reactivates. For vehicles below this VIN range, the SCBS-R uses a different module running different logic. Once a tow bar is installed, the SCBS-R is permanently deactivated. For these vehicles, it is required to replace the PDC module or to accept that the SCBS-R is deactivated. In order to prevent operational error of the new SCBS-R system by incorrectly detecting the ball neck as an objection, always remove the ball neck when the SCBS-R is activated and the vehicle is not towing
